Drake Reed is no where near an NBA prospect. He is a solid college player but not an NBA player. You need to take off those Red shades and stop trolling.

Agreed. Drake Reed was a great player and I'll miss watcing him mixing it up with our post players, but he's not an NBA caliber guy. That's no
disrespect to Reed, it just takes freakish talent to make it in the league. I think he'll make a very nice living playing overseas though and that's
something to be proud of.
As for Lester....I didn't pay much attention to the draft this year. Was he taken in the second round? Anytime an OVC player is drafted its a good thing for the conference. I hope he makes the Celtics roster and has a nice long career. |

I watched the draft, and major kudos to Hudson and the UT-Martin program.
But, all I can say is, how sweet would it be to hear Faried's name called in two years? I know he doesn't get as much exposure (barring our NCAA Tourney games), but it's really all about how you do in camps and workouts. Look at Louisville's Terrence Williams. He was projected all season a a late-first rounder or early second-rounder, but he really impressed teams in individual sessions and thus landed with the Nets at number 11 overall. If Faried can just get a sniff from some scouts and get a small window, that could be all he needs. Not to go off on a tangent, but were we really only down by 2 at halftime to a team with two lottery picks?

I do think Faried will play in the NBA one day, he has a lot a lot a lot of potential and if he can work on his back to the basket post game and develop a
decent mid range jumper it is going to happen. I can see him doing well in individual workouts and Draft prospect camps and turning some heads. NBA scouts
drool over athleticism, size, wingspan, and numbers. Faried's ability to rebound and his dominance on the boards is going to get him some looks. Right
now I don't see him getting in the first round basically because of being in a small conference, but most definetely a second round pick in a few years. I
can remember when Ricky Minard got picked in the second round by the Sacremento Kings in 2003-2004. The Kings also drafted Kevin Martin and had a stable full
of two gaurds which eventually led to them cutting/releasing Rick. Right now he is playing great overseas in Italy and even led the NBADL in scoring a few
years back.
