You beat me to it on here, but I beat yu to it on the blog! I'm actually glad that the BB game is on the road again. It will give us a quality opponent on
next year's home schedule. This year's home schedule is already the best we've had in a very long time. If South Dakota is a home and home deal,
then that will give us two great home games next year.

I beat you to the blog as well, lol.
24's Predicition, Last year I said we would be 19-11 going into the tournament. I was wrong we went 16-15 but ended the year with 20 wins. @ Kentucky-L Brescia-W UL-Monroe-W Kent. State-W @ UT Martin-W @ Murray State-L St. Catherine's-W East Tennessee State-W @ Utah State-L vs. Weber State-W vs. Cal-State Fullerton-W @ South Dakota-W Austin Peay-W Tennessee State-W @ Tennessee Tech-W @ Jacksonville State-W Southeast Missouri-W Eastern Illinois-W Southern Illinois-Edwardsville-W @ Eastern Kentucky-W @ Tennessee State-W @ Austin Peay-L Jacksonville State-W Tennessee Tech-W @ Eastern Illinois-L @ Southeast Missouri-W Eastern Kentucky-W Murray State-W UT Martin-W That would be a 24-5 record.

Overall, it's pretty good, much better than last year which we knew. I'm surprised by a few things which is the lack of a 2nd (or even 3rd) money game
which we had discussed earlier (although the Utah St. tourney probably qualifies, I meant at least one more big name road game to go with Kentucky). Also
surprised that the bracketbuster is AGAIN on the road for the 3rd straight year although it actually will be a benefit since we have so many home games this
season and gives us 2 return games the next year (South Dakota is the other) and then I'm sure the next year the BB game will be at home to give us 3 D-1
home games. (S. Dakota I believe has just moved up, but I think they may be pretty good). Of course I would like to replace one of the non D-1's with
either another money game or a home and home series starting on the road next year but all cant be perfect. Also concernig is the lack of any regional out of
conference game except of course ETSU. I mean I'm glad we got another series started but I'm not that excited about home and homes with SIUE or South
Dakota, but all in all it's a decent schedule especially at home. I guess Kent State would be somewhat of a regional game as well but I'd like to see
at least one of Ohio, Marshall, WKU (which wont happen) or maybe Belmont or UTC.

I hope MSUE 24 is right but I think the expectations may be a little high. We lost T. Brown and Ballou both of whom we counted on to at least provide good
bench play and trust me unless there really down a game at South Dakota is no picnic nor is beating either Weber St. or Fullerton. Kent State will be tough as
well but all of those are winnable.

You did beat me to the blog as well. When I started writing on there you hadn't posted it yet.
As for the newspaper idea, I'm thinking about maybe running a few adds in the Morehead News sports section once school starts back and the MSU coverage picks up. We could do it right now, but there really isn't a whole lot to blog about at the moment. The summer is always dry when it comes to MSU news. If we could get them to do a free writeup about the blog and this message board, then that'd be great. |

doesnt look like much of a rpi, apsu has the hardest up comeing season because they care about rpi and wants 2 get better

We've got a solid schedule....it would be better for our RPI to beat the defending A-Sun champs and a team that could win the MAC this year than to lose by
30+ two or three times to top 25 teams. Its a good schedule...solid teams with the exception of SIUE and perhaps ULM.

This is a good schedule. Some good opportunities there. I am not crazy about South Dakota and SIUE but the OVC probably almost dictated we play SIUE. At least
we don't have an excess of guarantee or non D1 games and that is what we should always do. I had hoped Kenneth would get to play a game close to home. No
local rivalry games is a minus.

Oh boy, where do I start?
Well, first of all, what kid from KY are you referring to? The only one from KY that plays significant minutes is Maze Stallworth. Are u aware we were his only D-1 scholarship offer? You know for a fact Tyndall's paying Faried, huh? Not to burst your bubble, but the article you posted has since been ORDERED TO BE TAKEN DOWN due to blatant inaccuracy. FYI, JoJo Swift isn't academically eligible, that's why he won't be playing this year. Do we have anybody fixing to get drafted? Um, perhaps you haven't seen or heard some of the pro scouts' evaluations of Faried. There's no question Drake Reid is a phenomenal OVC player, but I am willing to bet that, if either of them ends up getting drafted, Faried will go higher. Did you watch any of our play in the NCAA Tournament, where the commentators were taking about Faried's pro potential? Or were you still recovering from our most recent encounter in Nashville?

well tyndall town the kid i was talking about is the one transfring from ky, and another thing is their would be know morehead if their wasnt faried, ok
ya'll did not do anything when he was a freshmen and now that he is a starts morehead is good all of a sudden. just another reason why he is paying
peaple. the couch before him didnt do any thing and he didnt pay peaple, that why ya'll suck all those years.who wants 2 come play their morehead has
notting, its in the middle of no where. one more thing if they ordered 2 take it down why was it even put up????? whats the real truth

Landon Slone getting paid to play at Morehead?? Wow, you are way off. He was removed from Kentucky when the coaching change happend and he came to Morehead
because it was the closest division one school closest to his home, and he saw Morehead with a good core group of players and seen a chance to go to the NCAA
Tournament. Faried didn't do anything as a freshmen??? He was named to the all conference newcomer team which is composed of the best freshmen and junior
college transfers. Faried averaged double figures his freshmen year in limited minutes because of asama. Here is a background story for you Peay brain, Faired
has a highly touted senior but he had a horrible ACT/SAT score thus the schools that were recruting him, Seton Hall and Rutgers backed off of him. Only
Morehead State and Monmouth University offered Faried. Morehead State took the gamble on Kenneth he worked hard in the class room over the summer to be
elligible in the fall. As for that post it was a bunch of sour grapes and it never happend and I have a confirmed word from Tyndall himself that the story was
false. It was ordered to be taken down because the website didn't want to be sued for slander. Macy was a horrible coach who had one good find in Ricky
Minard who was the last OVC player to be drafted back in 2004. People want to come to Morehead now because they see the chance to play in the NCAA tournament
and have major success. Same reason some players want to come to Murray or Austin Peay. Tyndall has gotten Morehead State back on the map. I hope you enjoy the
few from the bottom as long as Tyndall is at Morehead State. So stop being a troll and scroll on over back with your friends in Peayland.

Where to begin...
The article was false. It was only on that guy's blog for about an hour and then removed because there was no truth to it. If we were going to pay recruits or players, we certainly wouldn't pay Landon Slone. We didn't even offer him a scholarship out of high school. No D-I team did. Morehead is a small town. Nothing wrong with that. Are you suggesting that potential recruits are drawn to Clarksville because it is a sprawling metropolis? Recruits that come from urban areas would view both our towns as being smll towns. The only OVC school in a metro area is TSU. I hold no malice towards APSU or its fans and I can't recall any of our message board members going after Peay in the way you're going after us. The bottom line is, we need all the good teams we can get in the OVC right now and in the future. Instead of taking cheap shots with make believe information, we should be pulling for each other to do well so that the conference will improve and never again be saddled with the play in game. |

Problem with idiots like this guy is that people will believe anything and don't mind repeating it. The guy has an obvious lack of verbal, grammar or
spelling skills. He cannot possibly be a graduate of such a fine university as the one who thinks 'Lets go Peay' is funny when in fact it is childish.

peaynut wrote:I think my fellow board members did an ample job responding. But I would like to add that Sloan was pretty set on Morehead even before he knew he was getting a scholarship. Tyndall recruited him out of high school, making a couple trips to Paintsville and one to the Sweet 16 State Tournament, but Sloan had "UK blinders on" (as he put it in his own words). Is there another blog post you have as supposed proof of Sloan getting paid off, or is it just more mindless rambling from Peayland? As far as Morehead being in the middle of nowhere, that's not true at all. Sure, we don't have the same recruting advatage as a school like EKU, who can tell a recruit "Hey, Lexington is just up the road." But I have read comments from some our our player's high school coaches, and they say that is the reason recruits want to come to Morehead: to stay out of trouble. Being in the big city carries a whole new set of temptations. Furthermore, not to nitpick, but my 6-year-old nephew has a Hooked-on-Phonics for sale. I could get you a great deal! |
