There will be four faces missing when the Spring semester rolls around in January.

Terrell...reportedly is homesick and heading back to Texas.
Romain...don't know why, but he is leaving.
Hosa...don't know why on him either.

And the somewhat shocker for me is John Lamb...I guess he wants some more playing time and his heading back towards Iowa. My guess is he will do D2 and not have to sit out a year.

So this is probably the reason we are...

We couldn't beat Murray by 30 points with our 5 best all-time players. Yet they just wiped the floor with us....you know their OVC co-favorites. If that wasn't a message, I don't know what one is. Which leads me to this.....

How does Murray do this year after year? I've been to Murray and it's a nice university in a nice town.....but nothing that drastically different than Morehead. Yet they seem to have it rolling as a program while we seem to just flounder...

have dropped football. Both were members of the CAA and neither decided to continue football on a non scholarship basis. A sign of the times or just one of those things???????? With the mega marketing of BCS schools and the availability of so many games on TV how does football survive at 1AA schools. Can OVC schools be far behind? Maybe this is just because these schools are in big markets. In NY and Boston no one really cares about these places with all the pro sports available....

Eagles go on the road and get the win in their first conference game. Big night for Faried 19 points, 18 rebounds. Harper 15 points, Simmons 15 points, and Stallworth 9 points (two clutch 3's late) came up big as well. Out rebounded the Skyhawks by 7.

We continue to have our struggles with turnovers and fouls. It sounded ugly, but a win is a win. We'll have to play better to beat Murray Saturday.

Coach Tyndall is on OVC.tv in a teleconference talking about the season so far and whats coming ahead. Here are the highlights.

Doesn't think the team he thought they would be at this point of the season but he still feels like the talent level is there.

He said this team is not a good practice team. Said its the most glaring weakness of this team. Saying they are reading to much about themselfs in the media. Seems like they are hungover from last season.

Johnson Arena

thanks Phil for posting about the Johnson Arena rating and the comment on attendance. Besides the attendance being embarrassing is the fact that the chair back seats are more than half empty for TV games. Something has to be done about that. If people buy season tickets they should be responsible for having someone's fanny in that seat. If they are not going to the game donate the seat to someone else. Also can someone please cheer, your not in a movie theatre.

I got a chance to watch us play Kent State. Some thoughts:
1. We should have won this game. Kent didn't beat us, our lazy passing did.
2. We're missing a valid 4 man and someone needs to fill that void or it's going to be rough going.
3. Turnovers are killers. We really need to take care of the ball.
4. I like the team's athleticism and they have potential to be a very good squad if they play smart.
5. I would like to see Morehead run more. They have...

From what I've seen and heard, the Racers look like the best team in the OVC. I know it is very early, but they have been the most impressive team. As for our Eagles, if Faried doesn't get some more help, we are going to have a hard time just staying in the top 4 of the league.

End Of Season Football Rant

Well, another forgettable MSU football season is over and the Eagles finished 3-8. The season looked promising at the beginning but when the wheels fell off, they stayed off. So now with 2009 done and buried, it's time for my end of season rant. Here it goes.

A non-scholarship school that has the lowest tuition in the PFL, and the lowest tuition in KY should NEVER go 3-9 again. NEVER! IMO MSU should be top three of the PFL every season. I don't think that's unrealistic...

I did not get to watch this one so it is hard to comment on officiating but we obviously did not play well to allow such shooting percentages. My point here is that I don't think you prepare for a Sun Belt level team by playing exhibition games against very low level teams and then playing an even lower level team inbetween UK and this game. The quickness factor is the biggest reason you commit fouls in my view. I hate these games period and I don't think they help.

In terms of crowning a full season champion, it was a three way race, since only three of us posted picks in all 12 weeks. I've got the final overall standings, the pick percentage of each participant based on the number of picks on the weeks they played, and a final breakdown of each week. Our three newcomers put up good numbers towards the end. Hope you guys will join in from the beginning next season. The most impressive performance had to be EagleFan going a perfect 9/9 on week...

I don't know if you all keep a look on Morehead State future opponents or not, but just incase you missed it future MSU opponent Cal-State Fullerton won at UCLA in double overtime two nights ago. Last night UL Monroe who we play on Friday took #17 Oklahoma to the brink before the Sooners pulled away with a 72-61 win. A chance for Morehead to strenghten their RPI if they beat these two teams.

Morehead State handled Brescia tonight 86-51. Morehead debuted its full court press tonight against the Bearcats and at times it was impressive but it still needs to be worked out. Morehead State was paced by Kenneth Faried's impressive 24 points and 15 boards in just 21 minutes of play. Followed by Terrence Hill with 12, and Les Simmons coming off the bench to score 11.
